On the HamRadioHelpGroup mailling list, there is a thread about finding repeaters. Someone asked how to find repeaters in an area without carrying around an ARRL Repeater Guide. While I think that carrying around the ARRL Guide is probably the best solution, there were several other good ones, including:
- Find the website of the repeater coordinating council of the area you’re going to visit. The example they gave is the Area Repeater Coordination Council, which serves Eastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey. These groups maintain a database of the repeaters they coordinate.
- Find websites for clubs in a particular area. Since many ham radio clubs maintain repeaters, their websites normally contain information on those repeaters. To find clubs, go to the ARRL Club Search Page.
- Artsci Open Amateur Repeaters Page
- K1IW Amateur Repeater and Broadcast Transmitters Database
