The first company that I worked for out of college was Amdahl Corporation. I was there when they made their 100th mainframe. I never actually met Amdahl, but apparently, he was a great guy….Dan

I love the idea of this printer, but at $2,200 it’s going to be out of the range for most hobbyists. I also am concerned about the small board size. That said, perhaps I can get our library’s Secret Lab to buy one…Dan

Even better than a local lightning detector, you can contribute to global lightning detection and location.

The real-time lightning map is really cool.

We tried buying one of the Blitzortung kits a couple months ago, but told they were out of stock. One of my friends here in Ann Arbor is monitoring the situation and does plan to buy one and install it at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum when he can get his hands on one.

The Blitzortung Ssytem RED has been out of stock for nearly 18 months. The promised System BLUS has never progressed beyond a few mentions of promised large scale production. I think Blitzortung is no longer a player in this field. “There is no release date.” “we do not announce a new date at which the system will be available.
If you really want a lightning detector I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. The AS3935 is a great product, and if you want something more then I suggest you take a look at Boltek.
