I got this in the mail Saturday:
How cool is this? I didn’t even realize that the ARRL had such an award.
I want all of you, right now, to go to http://www.arrl.org/elmer-award and recognize your Elmers. There’s no charge for this, and I’m sure your Elmer will appreciate it. I sure did.

Congrats!! I sent one to my Elmer, he has been since 1991, we lost track a few years with my moving to NC then NV and he moved from our home state of NJ to NY. But if it it were not for him I would not have gotten the kick when I was 20. Now afterall these years he has still be amazing and gone above the call of what a typical Elmer would do. That is why on my QRZ profile I have a special section for what he did.
Keep doing what you do, it is noticed. I am now visually impaired but I teach things all I can, and even help some disabled get inspired when testing. If a blind man can do it so can they!! In many ways getting back active in ham radio has saved my life.
