Last Saturday, I conducted yet another one-day Tech class. 15 of the 16 students passed. I feel sorry for the one that failed the test, but he may not have studied as much as he should have. I’m not taking the blame for him failling. :)
One thing that I am a little perturbed about is that six people who actually paid for the class didn’t show up. I haven’t asked them why they didn’t, but I suspect it was partly because they hadn’t gotten around to studying beforehand.
This class included two teenagers, several young adults, two young women. Aside from only including two women, it was a pretty diverse crowd.
We’re still waiting for the callsigns to appear on the database. It’s nearly 4:00 pm Eastern time here now, and still nothing. Unfortunately, it looks like this group is going to have to wait until next week before they get their callsigns.
My friend, K8MZO, videotaped the class. We’re thinking about editing these into video lessons, which I’ll post to my website. Stay tuned for an announcement on that.

Hi Dan!
I have been using your study guides to get ready for my testing too. I am in Northern Lower Michigan and was scheduled to take my test on Feb 14th, but something came up and I missed the testing. I kept at it and finally had the chance this past Saturday, May 9th. I showed up and answered 33 right on the Technicians and then went on and got 31 on my General! Thanks for your study guides! It made a difference in my retention of the information. I haven’t gotten my call sign yet, but should be posted soon!
Thanks again!!
Jim

My callsign finally showed up in the FCC database yesterday. I’ve been anxiously checking for the last week or so. I would imagine the other 14 are now licensed as well.
Thanks again for the class, it was very informative and enjoyable.
I’m referring a couple of coworkers to you that have expressed some interest in obtaining a license. Hopefully they’ll sign up and – more importantly – show up to your next tech class!

I would like to see the videos available so I can encourage my wife and daughter to study and get tech licenses. I’ll look forward to seeing those!
