I am not a big contester, but I do like participating in some of the smaller contests, such as state QSO parties. Since switching over to the Mac in the shack, however, I haven’t done any contesting. The reason is that I haven’t found a good contest logging program for the Mac.
Yesterday, though, I made some North American QSO Party QSOs while at the museum, and that got the juices flowing again. So, yesterday evening I loaded up the ancient PC laptop that I recently purchased so that I could run IE6 on it (I am a website developer by trade and need to make sure that the websites I work on display properly in IE6) with N3FJP’s NAQP program and worked the contest for a couple of hours.
I didn’t set any records (62 QSOs, 2000+ points), but it was fun, and I got to work three stations whose callsigns spell words (K5GO, K4NO, and K3AN). I also got to test out the new Winkeyer under contest conditions, and it passed with flying colors.
