No Nonsense Amateur Radio Podcast #8 – Contesting with Scott, K0MD, Editor, National Contest Journal

November 5, 2018 By Dan KB6NU 3 Comments

Contesting is one of the most popular activities in amateur radio. That’s why we were excited to get Scott, K0MD, to appear on our show. Scott is the editor of the National Contest Journal, a publications “dedicated to covering the competitive contesting aspects of amateur radio.”

This is a good episode. We talk about where contesting stands right now, and how contesting might change in the future. For example, there’s some speculation as to how autonomous vehicles might change the concept of “rovers” in amateur radio contests.

Here are links to some of the things we talked about in this episode:

  • International DX Convention (Visalia)
  • Contest University
  • K5ZD SO2R videos
  • Northern California Contest Club Sprint
