Here are two recent additions to my collection of QSLs from stations whose call signs spell words…

I’m kind of breaking my rules with this card, as I haven’t actually worked Mark, KC8ZAP. I met Mark at a recent ham swap and mentioned to him that I collect cards from stations whose calls spell words, and he volunteered to send me one of his. With a suffix like ZAP that was an offer too good to pass up. KC8ZAP is the second ZAP in my collection.
Dennis sent me this card after a recent park-to-park POTA contact. It’s sat on my desk for a couple of weeks before I realized that VIG is actually a word, although not a widely-used one. Here’s how Dictionary.com defines vig:
vig
/ vɪɡ /
noun
slang the interest on a loan that is paid to a moneylender
Thanks for the P2P, Dennis, and for the QSL.
