My wife, Silvia, has been going through some old scrapbooks while we’ve been self-isolating. This morning, she showed me this. It’s the QSL card that I had as a kid.
To be honest, I’d forgotten completely about this card. As I recall now, though, it was inexpensive, and I liked the “little blue dot” image on the card.
Also note that it was printed by 73 Magazine. I wonder how many of these cards 73 sold over the years.

My WN4SBE Novice QSL cards came from “The Little Print Shop” in Texas, It was a common design, with a swooping eagle in yellow, the only color on the whole front side of the card. I got a flyer from them in the mail, several days before my license came, with my callsign on it. So, I knew my callsign before I got my license from the FCC. My license came on August 20, 1970, the 50th anniversary of the first commercial radio broadcast.

I held the callsign WB9RZL back in the late 70’s early 80’s as I worked my way towards extra class. This was the card I had back then too. It was good to see it again as I sent all mine out.
