I got this message yesterday from Petr, OK2CQR, proprietor of HamQTH.Com:
I’m very happy that I can inform you about recent news at HamQTH.com.
What’s new?
- XML access to callsign’s recent activity added, more in developers section.
- Real-time QSO upload interface added, more in developers section.
- Send email to searched station function added (in Contact tab, just next to email itself)
- List of applications supporting HamQTH added.
- HamQTH has new shortcut icon designed by Junghard, DF1IAV
- Thanks to Yousef, 7Z2YR we have HamQTH translated to Arabic (it looks really awesome!)
Small statistic:
- 1,343,209 callsigns in database
- 11,883 registered users
- 7,018,773 queries to XML search
- 6,521,517 QSO in the log from 953 different callsigns
Did you know that DX cluster at HamQTH can colour the spots according to QSO you have in the log?
We have almost 50 times more users using XML search than web visitors every day. It’s fine, but please encourage others to register at HamQTH and update their profiles. Without that, XML search won’t be accurate. Thank you!
HamQTH is a real alternative to QRZ.Com. Check it out.

Why do we need an ‘alternative to QRZ.Com’?
Answer – We don’t.
Dan KB6NU says
It’s always good to have options. There are times, for example, when QRZ.Com is down.
Bill Glenn says
Because there are so many active, changing .gifs loading on the left side of the QRZ page that the CPU is being bogged down at times. If you have to wait to get a cursor to accept your typing, or otherwise your computer is slowed down, kill QRZ.com and problem will cease. I wrote them about it. They simply need to limit the number of rotating, actively changing advertisements that the CPU has to process.

Found out this year why an alternative is needed. Qrz is filtering Russian call signs from the database. It’s a database, not a political tool. I’m disappointed.
Dean says
Simple, easy to understand answer. It is free to use ALL its services. Unlike QRZ.com
Chris KQ2RP says
QRZCQ.com is another excellent alternative.
Joshua | DC7IA | KK4RVI says
And now the service is down because they didn’t make proper backups. m(
“HamQTH is down ;-(
I’m sorry but it seems we lost the data. Three from four disks are broken, even RAID array controler is failing. Unfortunately I did a mistake in backup plan, backups are broken as well.
We are trying to recever the data and it will take time. In the meantime, use another free callsign database – QRZCQ “

QRZ.com reached out to me and asked if I wanted to re-new my page design. i said yes and paid them 50 bucks. When I checked a couple of days later all was gone?!? When I asked em about it they said they don’t do page designs anymore on top! When I asked em what I was paying for they hemmed and hawed around so I said well just remove me from your database then. They did and now when you put in my call it says call sign not listed! What a rip!
Bobby says
QRZCQ is one to avoid, nothing but a spam launching grounds and a site that combs real sites for data dumps, it should be shutdown.
Mike says
Qrz and POTA cancelled me that’s why we need alternatives. Both are woke organizations contributing to the death of Amateur Radio. Look at all the dumb down video posts on Qrz by so-called experts. Goto pota.app and watch Generals operate out of their phone band regularly and Extras outside the USA phone band. They’re putting our HF frequency allocations at risk. Both sites don’t believe in Industry Self-Regulation when it comes to Part 97. Do not support them.
