Two weeks from today, on Tuesday evening, April 11 (4/12 UTC), the NAQCC will reach a landmark—the 150th regular monthly sprint. To celebrate this event they will be giving away a prize worth $150 to one member-participant! BUT, they will only have a prize drawing if there are at least 150 submitted logs.
You don’t have to be an experienced contester or a high speed CW operator to participate. Just get on the air, make at least 1 sprint QSO, submit your log, and you will be eligible for the prize drawing.
You do have to be an NAQCC member to win the prize, though. That’s easy enough to do. Membership is free. Click here to become a member.
Mark your calendar now, so you don’t forget this event. (I just marked my own calendar.) The 150th monthly sprint will be here before you know it. Additional information about this sprint will be in the NAQCC April newsletter that will be available for download in about a week.

I thought Ham Radio was a non-profit, non-commercial venture. It awarding prizes for operating participation legal?

Part 97.113 “Prohibitted transmissions, subsection (2) reads, “Communications for hire or for material compensation, direct or indirect, paid or promised, except as otherwise provided in these rules;” I don’t think a prize like this constitutes “communications for hire” nor is it material compensation.
