Several days ago, Chuck, K7QO, posted the following on QRP-Tech, the groups.io mailing list he moderated:
OK, proved my point that there is nothing left for this group to accomplish technically.
Going to moderated mode and postings will be left to die after 14 days in the queue.
End of this group. Take discussions to qrp-l and may the electromagnetic force be with you always.
Everything up to this point will be left as is until groups.io decides to start charging fees…. Please do not migrate files to other groups. They were put here by the owners and they have all rights to same.

One of the lists hoping to take it’s place is qrptech, which was set up only yesterday. Ryan, W7RLF, who set up the group and is currently moderating it writes:
My goal is to keep the old qpr-tech group alive under this new name, and I hope that all 2500+ on the old group will join this one, but I know that’s not realistic. If you all could put the word out that the group has moved, it’ll help keep this going. Despite those saying that “homebrew is dying” and the like, groups like this prove that it’s alive and well. let’s keep it that way!
At this point, there are only 117 members, far fewer than the qrp-tech mailing list, but it’s already pretty active. The most lively discussion is about AD9850 and Si5351 VFOs and the differences between them. If you’re a QRPer or homebrewer, consider joining this new group.
It’s disappointing to see someone Chuck’s age act like this. Yet again.
Well Chuck has just stormed off in a huff and left QRPtech…………….again!
